Prof. Dr.-Ing. Peter Krummrich


Herr Peter Krummrich wurde im Jahr 1966 in Braunschweig geboren. Er studierte an der Technischen Uni­ver­si­tät Braunschweig und dem New Jersey In­sti­tute of Technology Elek­tro­tech­nik mit der Vertiefungsrichtung Hochfrequenztechnik. Die im Jahr 1992 abgeschlossene Diplomarbeit beschäftigte sich mit dem Auf­bau einer hochauflösend durchstimmbaren Laserquelle zur Er­zeu­gung kurzer optischer Im­pul­se. Das The­ma der Pro­mo­ti­on, die im Jahr 1995 ab­ge­schlos­sen wurde, waren Praseodym-dotierte Faserverstärker für den Wellenlängenbereich um 1,3 µm. Ebenfalls im Jahr 1995 trat Herr Krummrich eine Stelle bei der Siemens AG in Mün­chen an. Er arbeitete dort als technischer Experte, später auch als Pro­jekt­lei­ter und als Dienststellenleiter, an Aufgaben in der Vorfeldentwicklung, im tech­nisch­en Marketing, der Baugruppenentwicklung und der Systementwicklung. Zu den tech­nisch­en The­men zählte zu­nächst die Un­ter­su­chung verteilter Erbium-dotierter Verstärker in Ko­ope­ra­ti­on mit ei­nem externen Partner. Später erweiterte sich der The­men­be­reich um Tech­no­lo­gi­en für robuste optische Netze, wie Raman-Verstärkung, leistungsfähige Modulationsverfahren, optische und elektrische Entzerrer sowie Polarisations-Modendispersions-Kompensatoren. Eine große Rolle spielte dabei auch die Un­ter­su­chung des Einflusses von Störeffekten auf die Über­tra­gung wie Rauschen durch Quanteneffekte oder Mehrwegeinterferenzen sowie lineare und nichtlineare Signalverzerrungen. Im Jahr 2007 wechselte Herr Krummrich an die Uni­ver­si­tät Dort­mund und übernahm dort die Leitung des Lehrstuhls für Hochfrequenztechnik. Fachlich be­schäf­tigt er sich wei­ter­hin mit Tech­no­lo­gi­en für optische Übertragungssysteme. Hinzugekommen sind The­men der klassischen Hochfrequenztechnik, wie bei­spiels­wei­se die Er­for­schung von neuen Kon­zep­ten fuer Kammern zur Messung der elektromagnetischen Verträglichkeit von Geräten. Für seine Diplomarbeit erhielt Herr Krummrich 1993 eine Aus­zeich­nung mit dem Preis der SEW Eurodrive Stiftung. Aufgrund seiner erfinderischen Tätigkeit bei Siemens wurde er 1998 zum ÖN Erfinder des Jahres ernannt. Für Ver­öf­fent­lichun­gen zur Raman-Verstärkung erhielt er den Preis der ITG 2004.
